Lois Cohen
photographer
Born in Amsterdam, Lois Cohen is an award-winning photographer whose work reflects different worlds within her own universe, paired with glimpses of everyday life. It showcases the fantastical, paradoxical, including the outrageous magnification of the world as is.
In the worlds she creates, concepts that would clash in our current society, coexist in perfect harmony.
And it doesn’t end there – her niche is her passion for finding and photographing outstanding personalities, in what amounts to a celebration of the richness and diversity of human behavior. She regularly puts the underdog and the eccentric in the spotlight, giving them the platform they deserve to startling effect.
She has developed a unique voice through her unusual upbringing and life experiences and deeply influenced by her passion for cinema and everything childlike and comical, though is not afraid to combine with the raw and obscure.
She garnered acclaim at ADCN for Best Photography, has won Huis Marseille’s Best Fanculture Depiction Photographic Award, and was the Young Talent 2018 at SBK Sprouts. She has photographed campaigns for some of the world’s leading brands and magazines, including campaigns for Adidas, Nike, Daily Paper and Gucci and editorials for Elle, Wonderland, Vogue Italia and Numero Berlin, to name a few.
Simultaneously, she has been working on editorials and personal projects with stylist and co-creative director Indiana Roma Voss such as ‘Local Angels’ and their most impactful body of work ‘Metamorphosis’, which was published by Vogue Italia.
